We recieved a text today informing us that the Electric Circus underground parties held at the beautiful Hatton Court Hotel are cancelled until further notice.
These cracking little parties, said to be along the same lines as those legendary nights at old Stowe School (Charmandean) parties back in the mid 90's and features a whole bunch of new DJ's cranking out phat tunes, organised by at least some of the same promotors.
The text tells us that the problem is caused - not surprisingly - by license issues, and the mansion house is currently not trading for alcohol or music, making it .
Hatton Court is situated just outside of MK in Haversham and was known as a great place for a posh wedding, until it was taken over by new owners earlier this year. Evidently the new owners haven't been aware of the delay imposed MK's apparently incapable licensing authorities, and this marks the third venue having these kinds of problems that we're aware of.
Although the text remains upbeat - closing with 'we will be back at Hatton Court - watch this space', with the Green Man in Newport still waiting for its personal license to be processed (having had it lost by the authorities in the first place) it looks unlikely the venue will be trading before christmas.
Now that the Community has stopped promoting the County Arms in Bradwell, the Rodeo Bar failing to pay its debtors, the Empire boarded up and the aforementioned problems at the Green Man, MK's music scene is currently having more problems than normal. The only beacon of hope seems to be The Beacon, so get down there before something goes wrong for them too !!
