Yo everybody, First and for most may I wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year, and many thanks to all of you who have listened to The Ruff Justice Sunday TakeOver over the last 11 months. My guest on the 8th of January 2006 will be DJ Roc-Hunter. He is a Disco DJ who has played big clubs in London and in the surrounding areas. He also does re-mixes of classic tunes, check out some of his tracks and mixes out on www.milliondollardisco.com We have some other fantastic guests lined up for 2006, possibly including Ben-E King and Kim Weston of Motown fame. As usual you are always welcome to contact us for whatever reason you seem fit Email : ruffjusticestudio@yahoo.com Phone or text 07984 274739 Here is his biography ! Who Is Roc Hunter ? A Harry Palmer fan with a schooling in 60s soul and r&b from back in the day when Paul Hallam was king, caught up in the jazz and rare groove circuits there after and the subsequent house and disco scenes, his influences range from hip-hop to rock and just plain good music as his ever expanding collection testifies! However, he is possibly most well known for his work in and around Brazilian music and has been contributing to the sound of the UK’s Far Out label since day one. From programming and mixing releases from the likes of Friends From Rio and The Ipanemas, through remixing tracks for the Misturada remix series and culminating in producing Azymuth, Grupo Batuque and Marcos Valle.

With a fascination for music technologies past and present and reverence to the edit from the likes of Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles with domestic reel to reel machines, he is happy that the Re-edit has come back into vogue and that remixing excellent tracks to oblivion is less popular. It is in this spirit that he completed the acclaimed Melo Do Tagarela reworking for Strut (a Brazilian version of Rapper's Delight from back in the day) and countless other of his own bespoke edits.

Check out this link for 'disco edits' mix from Roc featuring only his own chops.

Currently he is on regular DJ rotation at www.guanabara.co.uk doing the latin thing and guesting at places from Notting Hills Arts for http://www.futureworldfunk.com/ to Dundee at the fantastic http://www.thereadingrooms.co.uk/ blah blah blah

One Love as always
